Pack in 11th Place Heading into Final Round of Maui Jim Intercollegiate

CAREFREE, Ariz. – The NC State men's golf team shot a team score of five-under par in the second round Friday of the Maui Jim Intercollegiate played at the Mirabel Golf Club.
The Pack is in 11th place after two rounds with a score of six-under par. Arizona leads the field at 28-under par, while Clemson and Arizona State are tied for second place, one shot back of the Wildcats.
Benjamin Shipp shot a three-under par 67 on Saturday and now sits in 20th place with a two round score of four-under par.
Christian Salzer is next for the Pack in a tie for 30th place at two-under par for the tournament. After a 68 on Friday, Salzer shot even-par on Saturday in the second round.
Freshman Spencer Oxendine is next for the Pack in a tie for 50th place at one-over par for the tournament. Oxendine finished the day two-over par, but ended his round on a hot streak as he birdied three consecutive holes near the end of his round.
Junior Easton Paxton is in a tie for 53rd place one shot back of Oxendine. Paxton shot a career-tying low round of 66 on Saturday and now sits at two-over par for the tournament. The Riverton, Wyo., had five birdies against just one bogey on Saturday.
Freshman Max Steinlechner rounds out the Pack lineup in a tie for 66th place. Steinlechner has shot three-over par 73 in both rounds.
At nearby Desert Forest Golf Club, Brett McLamb and Carter Graf are in second and third place, respectively, in the Mea Lanakila Individual. McLamb shot a three-under par 69 on Saturday and is one shot out of the lead at four-under par for the tournament.
Graf shot an even-par 72 on Saturday and is in third place, one shot back of McLamb and two shots out of the lead heading into Sunday's final round.
