
Pack Opens Play Friday at Maui Jim Intercollegiate

RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State men's golf team heads west for its second tournament of the season as the Pack begins play Friday at the Maui Jim Intercollegiate in Carefree, Ariz.
NC State opened the season last weekend with an 11th place finish at the Gopher Invitational in Independence, Minn. Senior Christian Salzer and junior Easton Paxton led the Pack last weekend as both player's finished with three-round score of five-over par in a tie for 24th place out of 70 golfers.
Spencer Oxendine and Max Steinlecher made their NC State debuts last weekend. Oxendine finished in a tie for 44th place, while Steinlechner finished one shot back of Oxendine in a tie for 50th place.
Two-time All-ACC selection Benjamin Shipp rounds out the NC State lineup. The Duluth, Ga., native will look to rebound this weekend after an uncharacteristic opening to the season last weekend.
The tournament will be played at the par-70, 7,081 yard Mirabel Golf Club course. Live scoring can be found at Golfstat.com
This weekend will mark the NC State debuts for freshman Carter Graf and grad transfer Brett McLamb. The two players will be competing in the Mea Lanakila Individual at nearby golf course Desert Forest.
