Wolfpack Defeats College of Charleston In Exhibition, 4-2

RALEIGH – No. 21 NC State women's soccer earned a 4-2 win over College of Charleston on Saturday afternoon in an exhibition match at Dail Soccer Stadium in Raleigh, N.C.
Twenty-two players saw time on the field, as eight members made their unofficial debuts for the Red and White.
Tziarra King and Leyah Hall-Robinson set the precedent early with a goal apiece in the first eight minutes of the contest, but the Cougars countered in the 10th minute when Caitlyn Gonzalez found the back of the net to cut their deficit in half.
King scored her second goal of the match in the 53rd minute, and Toni Starova converted a penalty kick in the 59th minute to give the Pack a 4-1 lead.
Charleston managed to score a late goal in the 85th minute when Grace Powell capitalized on the rebound of an Eden Millan save.
King and Starova, along with freshman Jameese Joseph, each tallied an assist on the day.
NC State will open its season Aug. 22 when it travels to No. 15 South Carolina. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. from Stone Stadium, and the contest will be broadcast on the SEC Network.
