The Junior Collected her 18th Ranked Singes Win of the Season on Monday
ORLANDO, Fla. --Â No. 10 Anna Rogers defeated No. 59 Emma Antonaki (Mississippi State), 6-3, 6-2, in the opening round of singles play at the NCAA Championships on Monday afternoon, marking her 18th ranked singles victory of the 2019 campaign, to advance to the second round.

The All-ACC performer, boasting a 31-14 record, now has 11 ranked straight-set victories on the season.

Antonaki broke Rogers to open the first set, but the Stamford, Conn., native would take two games quickly after to take an early 2-1 lead. Up 4-3, Rogers broke Antonaki for a 5-3 lead before capturing the first set, 6-3, after winning three straight games.

Dropping the first game of the second set, Rogers rattled off three consecutive games to take a 4-1 lead, moving in on advancing to the second round on Tuesday. The junior clinched the match by winning back-to-back games to solidify the 6-3, 6-2 decision for her 14th win over a top-60 opponent this season.

Rogers is set to face No. 21 Kelly Chen (Duke) in the second round and will also open doubles competition with teammate Alana Smith on Tuesday. The seventh-ranked duo faces No. 20 Hana Mraz and Julia Rosenqvist of California in the first round.
