Pack Finishes Day One of Stanford Regional

PALO ALTO, CALIF. – The NC State men's golf team shot a team score of 10-over par in the first round Monday of the Stanford NCAA Regional held at the Stanford Golf Course.

The Pack is in 12^th place after the first round.

Benjamin Shipp led the Pack's efforts on Monday by shooting an even-par 70. The Duluth, Ga., led NC State with three birdies and is in a tie for 22^nd place on the individual leaderboard.

Stephen Franken is next for the Pack in a tie for 38^th place at two-over par 72.

Christian Salzer is in a tie for 43^rd place after shooting a three-over par 73 in the first round.

Harrison Rhoades shot a five over-par 75 to sit in a tie for 60^th place, while Easton Paxton rounds out the Pack lineup in a tie for 73^rd place after shooting an eight-over par 78.

Regional-host Stanford has the lead after one round. UNCG is in second place, Georgia Southern third and North Carolina is in fourth place. South Florida and Ole Miss are tied for fifth place. The Pack is eighth shots back of South Florida and Ole Miss.

The top-five finishing teams in the regional will advance to the NCAA Championships in Fayetteville, Ark.

The second of three rounds will start Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m. PT (11:30 a.m. ET). NC State's first player will tee off of hole 10 with a 9 am PT (noon ET) start.
