Pack Records Three Podium Finishes at Phoenix Invitational

Evans Takes Home Hammer Throw Title
ELON, N.C. – The NC State track and field team took home one event title and collected two silver-medal finishes at the Phoenix Invitational in Elon, N.C., on Saturday.
Throws: Lauren Evans threw her way to first place in women's hammer throw with a 56.23m mark. The Fayetteville, N.C., native's performance outdid the ACC qualifying standard (53.78) and is Evan's second consecutive weekend standing atop the podium.
William Pruden concluded the Pack's day with a second-place finish in men's discus throw, recording a 45.24m mark
Sprints: Missing her personal-best mark in 100m hurdles by .01, Mikieja Covington finished second with a time of 14.32.
Jumps: Covington took eighth place with a 5.34m mark in women's long jump competition.
