The Pack Looks to Advance to the Second Round of the Regional
RALEIGH --Â The No. 31 NC State gymnastics team opens NCAA Regional Championship action in Athens, Ga., at Stegeman Coliseum on Thursday, April 4 at 3 p.m. Facing conference foe No. 34 New Hampshire, the winner of the first-round dual meet will advance to compete in the second-round regional quad-meet against No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 16 California, and Maryland on Friday, April 5 at 7 p.m.
Thursday's meet will be televised on ESPN3.

NC State vs. New Hampshire
The squad has faced New Hampshire twice this season. On March 2, NC State posted a 195.850 to the Wildcats' 196.000 at UNH. NC State performed well across the board, recording a 48.900 on vault, 49.100 on bars, 48.800 on beam, and 49.050 on floor, marking one of five times this season that the Pack posted scores of 49.000+ in at least two events.

On March 23, NC State placed third at the EAGL Championship with a score of 195.275. New Hampshire took home the title in its home venue with a 195.950.

Throughout the 2019 season, the Pack is 9-3 against conference competition. The Pack's five highest scores of the season (196.400, 196.100, 195.850 - two times, 195.400) have all come when competing against an EAGL team.

NC State is three podium finishes away from hitting the 100 mark this season, and has already collected the most placements in the past five seasons. The team had 89 in 2018, 69 in 2017, 60 in 2016, and 69 in 2015.

NC State has earned 13 scores of 9.900+ this season. Drew Grantham has recorded the mark on vault four times, on beam one time, and on floor two times. With back-to-back 9.900 performances on bars in February, Lauren Kent has achieved the score three times. In the past three meets, Alexa Phillips has earned the scored two times on floor. Maggie Tamburro was the first to achieve a 9.900 for the Pack with her bars performance on January 18.
