
Rebol Breaks Career Singles Wins Program Record, No. 9 Pack Falls at No. 4 Duke

DURHAM, N.C. – The No. 9 NC State women's tennis team fell at No. 4 Duke on Wednesday, 5-2. Amanda Rebol became the winningest singles player in program history, reaching 88 wins with a victory on court six in three sets.
NC State drops to 21-5 (10-3) and Duke improves to 19-2 (11-1).
The ninth-ranked duo of Anna Rogers and Alana Smith battled with 81st-ranked Kelly Chen and Ellyse Hamlin on court one, taking two straight games after trailing 3-2. With a 6-4 decision, Smith and Rogers earned their 11th ranked doubles victory of the season together.
The doubles point came down to court three as Liz Norman and Bianca Moldovan came back to bring the match within one at 4-3, after falling behind 3-0. Margaryta Bilokin and Maria Mateas took the match, 6-3, to give Duke the 1-0 advantage heading into singles play.
Duke took five of six first sets to start singles play and won the first two singles points in straight sets. NC State went on to force three three-set matches.
Rebol put the Pack on the board with a three-set defeat of Hannah Zhao to etch her name in the NC State record books as the winningest singles player.
No. 93 Smith rounded out play with a three-set victory over No. 32 Kelly Chen, marking her fifth ranked singles victory of the season.
