NC State Hosts Quad-Meet on Senior Day Saturday

RALEIGH -- The No. 27 NC State gymnastics team will celebrate Senior Day Sat., March 9 at 4 p.m. The Pack will play host in a quad-meet with No. 28 Arizona, No. 35 George Washington, and Texas Woman's University inside Valvano Arena at Reynolds Coliseum.

Senior Day

The four seniors (Caitlyn Fillard, Paris Phillips, Alexa Phillips, Maggie Tamburro) will be honored after the meet.

Youth Day

The first 200 kids (ages 12 & under) in attendance will receive a Wolfpack stuffed animal.

Pack Pajama Party

Fans are encouraged to wear their pajamas and take part in the parade of PJs before the meet.

Post-Meet Autographs

The freshmen will sign autographs after the meet.

Gymnastics Intro Light Show

Wolfpack gymnastics is introducing a new fan engagement opportunity for Senior Day: a Wolfpack Spark app powered, crowd sourced light show. During Saturday's meet, fans will participate like never before – using their smartphones to create a light show during the team introductions! In order to participate, fans simply download the Wolfpack Spark app from their app store prior to heading to the meet. When the announcer prompts the audience and the lights go down, fans will open the app and the light show will begin.

Pack in the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL)
NC State sits atop the conference with a score of 195.565. Posting a season-high 196.400, the Pack holds the highest score recorded in the EAGL this season.

Individually, NC State holds eight spots in the top-five event lists. Drew Grantham ranks second on vault (9.855), tied for second on floor (9.850), and fourth in all-around competition (38.975). Alexa Phillips checks in at No. 4 on vault (9.815). Ranked second and third on bars, Lauren Kent (9.845) and Maggie Tamburro (9.825) lead the Pack on bars. Paris Phillips' 9.850 NQS on floor is tied for second-best in the conference. Caitlyn Fillard rounds out the top five for the Pack with a score of 39.035 in all-around competition, good for third-highest in the EAGL.

The squad's 195.565 NQS score ranks 27th in the nation.

NC State sits in the top 25 in two events: bars - No. 25 and beam - No. 25.

The NQS takes teams' highest six scores (three of which must be from away meets), eliminates the top score, and averages the remaining five.

Scouting the Opponents
No. 28 Arizona
The Wildcats rank 28th nationally in the NQS rankings, with a score of 195.550. The team checks in at No. 35 on vault, No. 22 on bars, No. 27 on beam, and No. 23 on floor. Arizona posted a 196.450, its highest score of the season, in its last meet at Texas Woman's University with Centenary College and Air Force.

No. 35 George Washington
The Colonials sit at No. 35 in the NQS rankings (195.125), and are ranked 41st on vault, 34th on bars, 35th on beam, and 50th on floor. The team's 195.400 at a quad-meet with New Hampshire, Yale, and William & Mary in early February is its highest of the season.

Texas Woman's University
The Pioneers are No. 56 in the NQS rankings (193.210). The team ranks: No. 57 on vault, No. 55 on bars, No. 56 on beam, and No. 56 on floor. In its last meet, Texas Woman's University posted its best score of the season (194.400).
