
Pack Tied for Fifth Headed into Final Round of The Hayt

RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State men's played 36 holes on Sunday and is tied for fifth with one more round to go at the John Hayt Collegiate Invitational held at Sawgrass Country Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.
The Pack is tied with Clemson at four-over par for the tournament. NC State and the Tigers are one shot back of North Florida and Coastal Carolina which are tied for third at three-over par. Louisville and North Carolina are tied for first place at even-par.
Stephen Franken led the Pack on Sunday and is in third place out of 88 golfers. The Raleigh native opened the day with a one-under par 71 in the first round and shot a four-under par 68 in the second round to sit alone in third place, one shot back of the leaders.
Benjamin Shipp is next for the Pack in a tie for 21st place. Shipp shot even-par in the first round and was two-over par in the second round.
Easton Paxton is one shot back of Shipp in a tie for 31st place. Paxton shot a 74 in the first round and improved to a 73 in the second round.
Christian Salzer and Harrison Rhoades round out the NC State lineup in a tie for 43rd place. Salzer shot a 73 and 77 in his two rounds on Sunday while Rhoades shot 75 in both rounds.
Freshman Thomas Deal is playing as an individual this weekend and is in a tie for 72nd place after shooting rounds of 78 and 79 on Sunday.
The Pack begins play on Monday morning at 8:25 a.m.
