Shaw to Represent United States at World Cross Country Championships

RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State cross country freshman Savannah Shaw is one of eight women who will represent the United States in the women's U20 race at the 2019 IAAF World Cross Country Championships in Aarhus, Denmark on Saturday. Her race is set for a 6:35 a.m. ET start at the landmark Moesgaard Museum.

Shaw qualified for competition at the World Championships back in February by securing a top-six finish at the USATF Junior Cross Country Championships in Tallahassee, Fla. She remained among the top group of runners for the entirety of that race before ultimately finishing fifth in 21:28.4.
Her performances continue after an impressive freshman cross country campaign during which Shaw made an instant impact as a part of the Wolfpack's lineup. She competed in uniform at all five meets during the Pack's 2018 season and scored for NC State at the NCAA Southeast Regional.
