Cunningham Named ACC Women's Track Performer of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Following the first week of outdoor track and field season, Gabriele Cunningham has been named ACC Women's Track Performer of the Week, as announced by the conference Wednesday.
Over the course of the weekend, Cunningham ran her way to top-five qualifying times nationally in three events: 100m hurdles (first), 100m dash (fourth), and 200m dash (fifth).
The Charlotte, N.C., native collected three podium finishes at the Black & Gold Challenge March 16, including two first-place finishes (women's 100 hurdles, women's 100m dash).
Cunningham finished the 100m hurdles in 13.18, a personal-best, which sits as third-fastest in school history.
The senior picked up her second first-place finish of the day, clocking in at 11.38 in the women's 100m dash. That time checks in at No. 2 in program history.
Ending her day in the 200m dash, Cunningham earned silver-medal honors, running the third-fastest time in school history (23.34).
The NC State track and field team is set to compete at the High Point VertKlasse Invite March 21-23.
