Chapman Named ACC Freshman of the Year

GREENSBORO, N.C. – NC State track and field's Timara Chapman has been named ACC Women's Freshman of the Year, as announced by the conference Tuesday. The awards were determined by a vote of the conference's head coaches.
The Raleigh native collected a bronze-medal finish in the women's pentathlon at the 2019 ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships, earning First Team All-ACC honors.
Chapman recorded the second-highest pentathlon point total in program history. Setting three personal-bests at the championships (shot put, long jump, 800m), Chapman clocked in at 2:19.11 in the 800m to secure a place on the podium.
