NC State Picked to Finish Fourth in Atlantic Division of ACC Preseason Poll

Wolfpack to open the season Friday, Feb. 15 at Doak Field at Dail Park
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Playing in one of the nation's toughest conferences and division, the NC State baseball team was picked to finish fourth in the Atlantic Division of the ACC Baseball Preseason Poll announced on Friday.

The Wolfpack collected 53 points in the Atlantic Division of the ACC Preseason Poll to finish fourth behind overall champion and division favorite Louisville with 90 points, Florida State (86) and Clemson with 71 points. Wake Forest was picked fifth in the division with 49 points, while Notre Dame and Boston College rounded out the group with 24 and 19 points, respectively.

In the Coastal Division, UNC-Chapel Hill was projected as the favorite with 97 points. Duke and Virginia tied for second each with 64 points. Miami collected 61 points to occupy fourth, while Georgia Tech was predicted to finish fifth in the Coastal with 59 points. Pitt tallied 24 points and Virginia Tech secured 23.

Nine of the ACC's 14 teams are ranked in one of the preseason polls from Baseball America, Collegiate Baseball, D1Baseball, National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA), Perfect Game or USA Today.

Last season, NC State was also picked fourth in the ACC Atlantic, but the Wolfpack ended the year second in the league with 19 conference wins to match the program record. The Pack won its first seven ACC series.

NC State also tied the school record with seven All-ACC selections, including ACC Pitcher of the Year Brian Brown and ACC Freshman of the Year Patrick Bailey. Â

The Wolfpack will host its season kickoff event tabbed the '#Pack9 Party' on Wednesday, February 13 prior to the men's basketball game against Syracuse at 8 p.m. at PNC Arena. The event will take place in the Close-King Indoor Practice Facility from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.
Fans will have the opportunity to meet the 2019 players and coaches, grab autographs from your favorite players and pick up the official 2019 Baseball poster! There will also be games, activities and more for the whole family.
