
Chapman, Covington Earn All-ACC Honors on First Day at #ACCITF Championships

Timara Chapman Earned a Bronze-Medal Finish in the Pentathlon
BLACKSBURG, Va. – The NC State women's track and field team sits in second place and the men's team sits in seventh place after the first day at the ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships in Blacksburg, Va.
Timara Chapman recorded the Pack's first podium finish of the weekend with a bronze-medal finish in the pentathlon. Her 3,813 point total earned her First-Team All-ACC Honors and sits as second all-time in the NC State record books. In the final event, Chapman set one of three personal-bests (shot put, long jump, 800m) on the day, clocking a 2:19.11 in the 800m.
Through four events, Grant Rivers is in second place in the men's heptathlon. He recorded first-place finishes in shot put and high jump. Rivers tied his personal-best in the 60m dash (7.44) and set a new personal-best in shot put (40'10.25", 12.45m).
Mikieja Covington set two new career marks in high jump (4'11.75", 1.52m) and shot put (35'4.5", 10.78m) on her way to Second-Team All-ACC honors. Her 3,691 point total registers as third-best in program history.
The women's DMR finished fourth with a time of 11:15.78, which registers as fourth-fastest in school history. On the men's side, NC State recorded a time of 9:53.59.
