RALEIGH, N.C. – Highlighted by a pair of games against NCAA Tournament teams from a season ago, the 21st-ranked NC State baseball team will head to Myrtle Beach this weekend for the Baseball at the Beach Tournament hosted by Coastal Carolina.

The Wolfpack will take on Kent State (0-3) in its first game of the weekend on Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. at TicketReturn.com Field, home of the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, a minor league affiliate for the Chicago Cubs.

Saturday and Sunday's games will be played at Springs Brooks Stadium, as NC State (4-0) will battle Michigan State (1-2) Saturday at 11 a.m. and conclude the weekend with a matchup against the host Chanticleers (4-0) at 3 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

All three games will have radio coverage available on WKNC 88.1 FM and on GoPack.com for premium subscribers. A live stream of Sunday's game versus Coastal Carolina is available, but it is behind a paywall on the Chanticleer Sports Network.

Last Time Out
In its last outing, the Wolfpack picked up a shutout win in its first road game of the season, taking down the Elon Phoenix, 5-0. The game was scoreless through the first five innings before a solo home run from Will Wilson ignited the NC State offense.

Stellar Defense
Following the first four games of the season for NC State, the Wolfpack stands as one of just five programs nationally that have not committed an error on defense and the only team from the Atlantic Coast Conference.

The other teams that have not had a miscue this season include Elon, Seton Hall, UC Santa Barbara and UNLV.

The Pack has had 140 total chances, registering 108 putouts and 32 assists. Additionally, NCSU has turned three double plays, third most in the conference.

NC State's offense has produced 38 hits through four games this season, which is second most in the ACC. The Wolfpack's four triples lead the league and its six home runs is second in the conference.

The Pack has scored 39 runs, which is the second most in the ACC and 15th in the NCAA. NCSU is averaging 9.8 runs per game. With a .529 slugging percentage, the Wolfpack ranks second in the conference in that statistic.

Four Combine for the Shutout
Four different NC State pitchers saw action on the mound in a combined shutout against Elon on Tuesday. It stands as one of just five shutouts by an ACC pitching staff this season.

Michael Bienlien started the contest before giving way to Baker Nelson. Evan Justice took over after Nelson and Mathieu Gauthier finished the game.

Last Time at Baseball at the Beach
The Wolfpack last traveled to the Baseball at the Beach Tournament in 2016 when NC State earned wins against Coastal Carolina (13-10) and Kent State (7-5). The Pack dropped its opener to Old Dominion, 5-0.

Four in a Row
Senior Evan Edwards and sophomore Patrick Bailey are the only two NC State players that have recorded a hit in all four games. Edwards ended the 2018 season on a five-game hitting streak and has now hit safely in his last nine games. Bailey's hit streak stretches to five games dating back to last season.

Jonny Butler, Tyler McDonough and Vojtech Mensik have also reached base safely in every game this season.

- Kent State won the Mid-American Conference (MAC) regular season and tournament championship last season, advancing to the NCAA Lubbuck (TX) Regional.
