Women's Tennis Tabbed at No. 23 in Latest Oracle/ITA Division I Rankings

TEMPE, Ariz. --Â The NC State women's tennis team is tabbed at No. 23 in the latest Oracle/ITA Division I Rankings. The Pack claims four spots in the singles and doubles rankings combined, the most of the 2019 dual season for the team.

The rankings follow a successful weekend for the Pack, moving to 8-2 on the season while earning wins against Utah (7-0) and James Madison (6-1) to extend the team's home winning streak to six.
Anna Rogers is the highest-ranked singles player for the Pack, checking in at No. 25. Since the beginning of dual season, Rogers has remained a presence in the top-25. Playing on court one this season, she has posted a 7-2 record. In dual season she has earned three ranked singles wins (No. 56 Magda Adaloglou - Mississippi State, No. 29 McCartney Kessler - Florida, No. 97 Stacey Fung - Washington) and has collected nine ranked singles wins throughout fall and spring competition.

Playing on court two, Alana Smith entered back into the rankings this week at No. 73. In singles, she has collected seven wins this dual season, including a 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 victory over Georgia's No. 10 Marta Gonzalez.

Tabbed at No. 88, Adriana Reami has won six matches in a row, including two against ranked opponents (No. 102 Carle Lourdes - Georgia, No. 87 Katarina Kopcalic - Washington).

In doubles, Rogers and Smith sit at No. 10 in the rankings. They have only dropped one match this dual season. With seven wins in dual season, the duo has defeated two ranked opponents (No. 49 Lisa Hofbauer and Alisa Diercksen - ETSU, No. 41 Tsveta Dimitrova and Victoria Emma - Florida). Over the course of fall and spring competition, they have collected five ranked doubles wins. Rogers and Smith have won nine of the last 10 matches competing together.

The Pack also jumped up one spot in the Tennis Channel/USTA College Tennis Top 25 Rankings, checking in at No. 16.
The team begins ACC competition this weekend on the road at Virginia on Friday, Feb. 22 at 4 p.m. and at Boston College on Sunday, Feb. 24 at 11 a.m.
