RALEIGH, N.C. – The 21st-ranked NC State men's tennis team secured its second straight win over Old Dominion as it defeated the Monarchs 6-1 Sunday afternoon inside the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center.

With the win, the Pack improves to 7-2 on the season, while the Monarchs fall to 4-3.

MATCH RECAP:
Doubles proved to be a tight battle, with the decision coming down to the last of the three courts. Old Dominions 25th-ranked duo of Aziz Kijametovic and Francois Musitelli defeated Alexis Galarneau and Michael Ogden 6-3, but the Wolfpack picked up a win on court two shortly after.

Tadas Babelis and Georgiy Malyshev broke Nicola Vidal and Luca Maldoner to go up 4-2 and did not drop another game on the way to a 6-2 win.

Taking on Jannik Giesse and Oliver Tobisch on court three, Igor Saveljic and Ivan Saveljic faced a two-game deficit early but fought back to tie the score at two apiece. Igor and Ivan won on double break point in the final game to take the match 7-5.

With the pair of doubles wins, NC State headed into singles action with the 1-0 advantage.

Babelis handled Giesse in straight sets for the Pack's first singles win of the outing, picking up a 6-3, 7-5 straight-sets vcitory to give NC State a 2-0 lead in the match.

Turzak came back from a set down to put NC State a match away from the clinch, beating Vidal 0-6, 6-3, 6-1.

Galarneau also managed to push his match into a third set after dropping the first set. The 45th-ranked Wolfpack junior defeated No. 93 Kijametovic 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 to clinch for the Pack.

Play continued on the remaining courts, where the Pack picked up two more wins as Igor defeated Musitelli 6-3, 5-7, 7-6 (2) and Yannai Barkai beat Tobisch 6-3, 6-4.

UP NEXT:
The Wolfpack will continue its nine-match home stint next weekend with a packed slate of opponents. NC State will welcome a ranked team to Raleigh for the first time this season as it hosts No. 17 Tennessee on Friday, Feb. 22 and will turn around to host a doubleheader against Virginia Tech and North Carolina Central on Sunday, Feb. 24.
