Pack Posts Podium Finishes at Two Different Meets on Friday

Lauren Evans continues her streak of top 3 finishes
The Wolfpack men's and women's track & field teams are competing in two meets this weekend and earned podium finishes at both venues on Friday. Several members of the squad competed in track events at the Camel City Invitational in Winston-Salem, while a group of field athletes traveled to Blacksburg, Va. For the Virginia Tech Doc Hale Elite meet.

CAMEL CITY INVITATIONAL
Middle Distance: Emma Ferguson posted a personal best with a third-place finish in the mile. The freshman clocked in a 4:52.82.Â

On the men's side, Gavin Gaynor finished fourth with a PR of 4:09.12 in the mile, while Edwin Rutto's seventh place mark of 4:12.37 was also a career best.
Distance: The Wolfpack posted top three finishes on the men's and women's side in the 3000m. For the women, Isabel Zimmerman finished third with a  9:43.00 mark, while Patrick Sheehan clocked in at 8:16.66 to finish second on the men's side.

Throws:Â Lauren Evans continued her podium streak, winning the weight throw with a mark of 67 2-3/4 (20.49). That marks her 11th straight podium finish of the season as she has placed on the podium in every event she has competed in during the 2018-19 indoor season.
