RALEIGH, N.C. – A total of 17 members of the sixth ranked NC State wrestling team will travel down to Chattanooga, Tenn., and compete in the 2020 Southern Scuffle Jan. 1-2.

There are 28 teams registered for the event, including seven teams that are currently ranked in the top-25 of the NWCA Coaches Poll: #5 Virginia Tech, #6 NC State, #9 Oklahoma State, #10 Pitt, #11 Iowa State, #17 North Carolina, and #25 Rider. Virginia Tech and North Carolina will not be sending their starters.

Although NC State has sent redshirts and backups to the Southern Scuffle over the recent years, this will be the first time since 2014 that NC State is sending its starters.

Southern Scuffle Schedule:
Action starts on Wed., Jan. 1 at 10 a.m. with the Round of 32 followed by the Round of 16. The Quarterfinals will get underway at 5:45 p.m. Action resumes on Thur., Jan. 2 at 10 a.m. with consolation rounds, with the semifinals starting at noon. The finals and medal matches will be held at 7 p.m. that evening.
