2024-25
• Opened the season with a ranked in over No. 27 Ahtony Molton of Campbell in the first dual (part of Journeymen WrangleMania)
• Competed at the Journeymen Collegiate Classic in November at 125 lbs, then in the home dual versus Utah Valley where he suffered a season-ending injury
• Named to the 2024-25 ACC Academic Honor Roll
2023-24
• Named a captain for the season alongside Jackson Arrington, Alex Faison, Trent Hidlay, and Isaac Trumble.
• Competed solely in the 125 pound weight class. Finished the season 14-6, 10-4 in duals, 2-0 in ACC action, and four ranked wins. Highest ranked win was over No. 3 Matt Ramos of Purdue to land him as ACC Wrestler of the Week in November.
• Won his third individual ACC title, his conference tournament performance featured a pin over Duke’s Login Agin.
• Automatically qualified for the NCAA Championships and was placed as the seven seed. Went 2-2 overall with both losses coming from top-10 seeds.
• Named a NWCA Scholar All-American for the fourth time, to the 2023-24 All-ACC Academic Team for the second time and the 2023-24 ACC Academic Honor Roll for the sixth time.
2022-23
• Did not compete for the Wolfpack due to injury.
• Runner-up at the 2022 World Team Trials at 57 kg. Entered as the #4 seed, then won his first two matches to reach the final. Started with a 9-4 win over Campbell’s Molton. In the semifinals, he avenged a loss to top seed and U.S. Open Champion Ramos of Purdue, 11-7. Camacho dropped his two matches in the final to Cornell’s Arujau.
• Placed third at the 2022 U.S. Open at 57 kg. Opened with back-to-back 10-0 techs before falling on criteria in the semifinals. Came back to win final two matches.
2021-22
• NCAA Qualifier for the third straight year at 125 pounds. Was seeded #14, and went 2-2, one win from All-American honors. Both losses were to top-6 seeded wrestlers.
• 2022 ACC Champion. Started as the #2 seed with an 8-3 win in the semifinals. In the final, scored the winning takedown with five seconds left to down top seed and defending champion Latona of VT, 3-1.
• Went 18-5 on the season overall. 10-3 in duals, 4-0 in ACC action. Also 5-3 vs. ranked foes and 10-1 in bonus point matches.
• Earned ACC Wrestler of the Week honors after defeated #30 Smith of Appalachian State in a dual, 5-3.
• Wrestled up at 61 kg at the 2021 U.S. World Team Trials. Fell 8-6 and 11-5 in his two matches.
• Claimed top honors at the 2021 U.S. Senior Nationals at 57 kg. Went 3-0 in the tournament, outscoring his foes 32-7. Won 8-6 after a pair of second period takedowns after the score was tied 3-3.
• Named a 2022 NWCA Scholar All-American.
2020-21
• NCAA Qualifier. Entered as the #6 seed, went 2-2. Won his first two bouts before falling to #3 seed and NCAA finalist Courtney of Arizona State, 4-2.
• Earned All-ACC honors after placing second at the ACC Championship.
• Went 10-4 overall, 6-1 in duals and 4-1 in ACC duals.
• Seven of 10 wins were for bonus, 7-0 in bonus bouts overall.
• In his first senior-level freestyle event, placed seventh at the 2020 U.S. Senior Nationals at 57 kg. Entered as the #10 seed, and advanced to the quarterfinals before his first loss. Went 4-2 in the event overall, closing with a 5-2 win over #5 seed Mack in the seventh place bout.
• Named a 2021 NWCA Scholar All-American and to the 2020-21 All-ACC Academic Team and 2020-21 ACC Academic Honor Roll.
2019-20
• Earned 2020 All-America 2nd-Team honors by the NWCA.
• Seeded #10 for the 2020 NCAA Championships.
• 2020 ACC Champion. Defeated returning NCAA finalist #2 Mueller of Virginia in the finals, 11-4.
• Named 2020 ACC Championship Most Outstanding Wrestler.
• Finished 20-6 overall, 9-2 in duals and 4-1 in ACC duals.
• Won 8 of final 9 matches of the season.
• Lost his ACC opener to #2 Muller in the dual (2-5), then won four straight ACC duals and both matches at the ACC Championship.
• Won the Wolfpack Wrestling Club Open going 5-0.
• Finished the season ranked #9 at 125 pounds by both InterMat and FloWrestling.
• Named to Amateur Wrestling News’ 2019-20 All-Rookie Team.
• Named a 2020 NWCA Scholar All-American and to the 2019-20 ACC Academic Honor Roll.
2018-19
• Redshirted the season.
• Competed in six open tournaments at 125 pounds, and compiled a record of 26-3 (one loss a MFF). Placed third or better in all six, winning the Hokie Open, Wolfpack Wrestling Club Open and National Collegiate Open.
• Took third at the Southern Scuffle, going 6-1. Scored a top-20 win and win over a 2019 NCAA Qualifier.
• Named to the 2018-19 ACC Academic Honor Roll.
Prep
• Three-time Connecticut State Open champion, and missed most of senior season due to injury.
• 2018 FloNationals champion.
• 2017 Super 32 National Champion. Became the first high school wrestler from Connecticut to win a national championship since 2003, and was the first public school student to accomplish the feat.
• 2017 FloNationals All-American, placing second, and 2017 Junior National Freestyle All-American.
• 2016 NHSCA National All-American.
