
Rifle Posts Program Second-Best Score in Win Against Memphis

MEMPHIS, TENN. – The 17th-ranked NC State rifle team used one of the best scores in program-history to up end No. 12 Memphis Saturday. The Pack's 4675 is the second-best score in program history, behind a 4678 on Jan. 21, 2018. NC State outscored Memphis, 4675-4646.
The team had 16 season-highs and 13 career-bests, led by Emily Fisher's aggregate mark of 1,172. Fisher took first place in both the aggregate and air rifle. Competing in aggregate for the first time in her career, Aliya Butt finished third with a score of 1,170 before Makenzie Sheffield rounded out the top five with a 1,166. It is also the Pack's first win over Memphis since 2017.
SMALLBORE NOTES:
- Sheffield had the team's top score with a personal-best 580.
- Fisher, Peterson and Zanti all recorded perfect scores in their first prone series.
- Butt, Peterson and Tinter rounded out the group of six NC State competitors who recorded career-highs.
