#17 Wolfpack Ready for Tangle with #12 Tigers

RALEIGH - After a week with no competition, the No. 17 NC State rifle team resumes action Saturday, Nov. 9 as it travels to Memphis, Tenn. to take on 12th-ranked Memphis.

The Wolfpack enters the match with a 2-1 record, coming off two matches against top-20 teams. The team's one loss came to No. 5 Navy Oct. 26 as the Midshipmen won by a narrow 4649-4621 margin. Despite the loss, freshman John Peterson recorded a new career-high of 567 in smallbore while fellow freshman Addy Burrow fired a career-high score in air rifle for the third consecutive match, notching a 589 in the event.

Memphis comes off a 4714-4654 loss to No. 2 West Virginia Nov. 3. The Tigers hold a 1-3 record, with their lone victory coming against UT-Martin at the Tiger Open Sept. 21-22. Since the Tiger Open, Memphis has taken on top-10 teams in three consecutive matchups. The Tigers have faced Navy, Army, and West Virginia.

After the Wolfpack's competition at Memphis, the team makes the trip to Morgantown, W.V. for a pair of matchups against No. 6 Akron and No. 2 West Virginia, Nov. 16-17.
