RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State volleyball team is set for its regular-season finale, Nov. 30 at Boston College. The Wolfpack will take on Boston College at 12 p.m. on ACC Network in the final regular-season ACC match of the 2019 season.
Boston College (19-11, 10-7 ACC) took the first meeting between the two teams back on Oct. 25 in Reynolds Coliseum. The Wolfpack forced a fifth-set after going down 0-2 in the match despite being without leading attacker, Melissa Evans. Jessica Kemp and Jade Parchment were two of four NC State players to record double-digit kills, reaching 19 and 17 kills, respectively. Nina Sharpton had a then-personal-best 50 assists.
The Pack is coming off a solid performance last weekend against No. 2 Pitt. NC State had the fifth-highest hitting percentage of any ACC team this season against the Panthers. Evans led NC State with eight kills while Pam Chukwujekwu and Jessica Kemp both tallied seven. Chukwujekwu also recorded five blocks helping NC State to a total of eight, tying the Panthers.
SCOUTING BOSTON COLLEGE
Boston College is searching for its first 20-win season since 2004 (prior to joining the ACC). Boston College however is coming off two-consecutive losses after being swept by Virginia and falling in five to Syracuse.
As a team, the Eagles lead the ACC in total assists (1,457), total kills (1,540) and service aces (163) while their kills and assists also rank in the top-40 nationally. The team is led by Amaka Chukwujekwu, Pam Chukwujekwu's sister, who ranks 32nd in the nation and second in the ACC with a .384 hitting percentage. She is also third in the ACC and 59th nationally with 121 total blocks.
