
Pack Hosts No. 2 Pitt for Senior Day

RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State volleyball team welcomes No. 2 Pitt to Reynolds Coliseum Sunday, Nov. 24 for the team's final home match of the 2019 season. The match is set to begin at 1 p.m. and will be broadcast on ACCNX. Tickets are available here.

Following the conclusion of Sunday's match, NC State will honor its three seniors – Grace Irvin, Jessica Kemp and Lauryn Terry.

Jade Parchment has been a force for NC State over the last several matches, which includes five-straight double-digit performances. In the month of November, Parchment is averaging 3.42 kills per set, 2.92 digs per set and a .270 hitting percentage. Additionally, Melissa Evans is riding six-match streak with double-digit kills which included a career-high 23 in a win against Miami. Last weekend against the Hurricanes and Georgia Tech, Evans averaged 4.5 kills per set and a .378 hitting percentage.

FIVE-SET THRILLERS
NC State has played 12 five-set matches this season, including six of the last eight. Of the 12 five-set matches, five have been forced by the Wolfpack after going down 0-2. NC State is 5-7 this season in five-sets which included taking some of the top teams in the ACC to five (Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Louisville and Boston College).

SCOUTING PITT
Pitt, currently ranked #2 in the AVCA poll, holds the highest ranking in program-history as well as ACC history. The Panthers have dropped just four total sets in conference play to three opponents with its only loss on the season to then-#4 Penn State.

The Panthers currently rank sixth in the country in assists per set (13.55) and eighth in kills per set (14.59). Pitt has two players in the top-150 nationally in hitting percentage while Sabrina Starks is 11th in the country with 1.42 blocks per set.

Pitt has three matches scheduled in a matter of five days, starting the stretch with a home match against Florida State on Friday, Nov. 22 before traveling to Raleigh. The Panthers then conclude their regular-season at home against Louisville on Nov. 27.

THE SERIES
Pitt lead the all-time series, 10-2, with NC State's two wins coming in 2013 and 2017. The series dates back to 1979, however, the last nine meetings have taken place in the last six years when Pitt joined the ACC.
