Hartl Posts Strong Start At Tar Heel Invitational

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Junior Monika Hartl of the NC State women's golf team turned in a strong start at the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational on Friday, hosted by North Carolina at Finley Golf Course in Chapel Hill, N.C., with an even-par 72 to sit among the top 25 of the individual standings through one round.

It's the second time this season she has turned in an 18-hole score of even par or better, as she led the team to a score of 303 (+15). As a team, NC State is in 18^th place.

Wake Forest paces the tournament field with a six-under par 282, while Kentucky and Alabama are one stroke behind the Demon Deacons and tied for second out of 18 teams.

Inja Fric carded a three-over 75, while Lea Klimentova and Natalie Armbruester both turned in a 78. Mim Sangkapong rounded out the Wolfpack's scoring on Friday with a seven-over par 79.

The Pack will continue play at the Tar Heel Invitational Saturday, as it will tee off hole 10 between 10:39 and 11:15 a.m. with Rollins and UNCW.
