GREENSBORO, N.C. – Nine student-athletes from the NC State men's and women's cross country squads were honored as members of the 2018 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Cross Country Teams, as announced Thursday by the league office.
2018 All-ACC Women's Academic Cross Country Team
All seven honorees for the Wolfpack women competed as major contributors to NC State's lineup for the entirety of the season.
Clairmonte, Crosby, Henes, Holt and Zimmermann were all members of the All-Southeast Region team and led the team to its third regional title in a row. The women were all a part of the Pack's third straight and 24th overall ACC title in 2018, as Clairmonte, Henes and Crosby all finished in the top 10 and were named All-ACC performers. The women wrapped up the season with a 13th-place finish at the NCAA Championships, where Henes gained All-American status for the second season in a row.
This marks the first All-ACC Academic honors for freshmen Holt, Mareno and Shaw and is also the first for senior Crosby since joining the Wolfpack for her final season of cross country eligibility. Clairmonte, Henes and Zimmermann were all honored as members of the 2017 All-ACC Academic Team.
2018 All-ACC Men's Academic Cross Country Team
Gaynor and Moskowitz each garnered both All-ACC and All-Region honors during the 2018 cross country season and helped the Pack men to their Southeast Regional title win. Both runners went on to race for NC State at the NCAA Championships, where the Pack placed 11th overall for the program's best finish since 2011.
Moskowitz has been named a member of the All-ACC Academic Team for each of the past two seasons, and the honors mark the first of Gaynor's NC State career.
To be eligible for consideration for the All-ACC Academic Team, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.0 grade point average during the previous semester and maintained a 3.0 cumulative grade point average during their academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered.
The ACC Honor Roll for all conference student-athletes is set to be released in July.
