RALEIGH, N.C. --Â The NC State women's gymnastics team (4-1, 1-0) makes the short trip to Chapel Hill, N.C., on Friday, Jan. 25 to take on East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) competitor UNC-Chapel Hill (4-1, 1-0) at Carmichael Arena at 7p.m. Both squads stand atop the conference standings, as the Pack trails the Tar Heels by 0.238 in all-around average.
Last Time Out
The Wolfpack gymnastics team, posting a 194.600, took first place in its quad-meet at Towson with William & Mary and Cornell on Friday, Jan. 18 at SECU Arena in Towson, Md.
NC State posted team season-highs (vault, bars, floor) and had individuals place first in three events (all-around, vault, bars) while recording 11Â podium finishes on the night.

Pack Collecting Weekly Awards
NC State gymnast Grantham has been named the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Gymnast of the Week for the second consecutive week. Claiming her first all-around title of the 2019 season in a quad-meet at Towson with William & Mary and Cornell on Friday, Jan. 18, Grantham placed on the podium in three events (vault, beam, all-around). She has earned a place on the podium as an all-arounder in every meet this season.
NC State has swept the first three weeks of EAGL Gymnast of the Week honors. Caitlyn Fillard was named the week one conference gymnast of the week, and Grantham has won the award the past two weeks.Â
Pack on the Podium
With 13 podium finishes entering the quad-meet last week, the Pack almost doubled its total podium finishes for the year Friday, collecting 11. NC State now has 24 total podium finishes on the season.
Pack Trending Up
NC State posted season-highs in three events last weekend: vault (48.800), bars (49.075), and floor (48.950). Senior Maggie Tamburro posted a career-high 9.900 on bars at Towson.
Scouting the Opponent
UNC-Chapel Hill (4-1 overall, 1-0 EAGL)
The Tar Heels are averaging a team score of 194.663 and posted a season-high 195.150 in its most recent meet at home against Ball State. The squad ranks eighth in the nation on floor and 22nd on beam.
Last season, NC State proved victorious in its two head-to-head matchups with UNC-Chapel Hill.Â
