BLACKSBURG, Va. – The NC State volleyball team stormed back to win three consecutive sets after dropping the first set to earn a 3-1 (21-25, 26-24, 25-19, 25-23) win against Virginia Tech Sunday afternoon inside Cassell Coliseum. The Wolfpack picks up its first conference road win and NC State has now won the last four meetings with the Hokies.
Third-year head coach Linda Hampton-Keith remains unbeaten against Virginia Tech, as the Pack has won all three meetings under her leadership. Sunday's meeting was the lone matchup between the programs this season.
NC State moves to 8-6 on the year and 2-2 in ACC play, while Virginia Tech falls to 11-5 and 2-2 in conference action.
Quoting Hampton-Keith
Overall thoughts...
"Any road win in the ACC is a good win," said Hampton-Keith. "I'm so proud of our efforts today because it wasn't always pretty, and it certainly wasn't easy, so our ability to work together as a team against a good Virginia Tech team at home was the highlight of the day.
"Today was a great team effort that was bolstered by some fantastic individual performances that really anchored us. Teni, Kylie and Makenzie I thought all did a great job being steady and reliable with their execution which really provided the base for us to build upon today."
