Turzak and Ogden Advance in #TulsaITA Pre-Qualifying Singles Draw

TULSA, Okla. – NC State's Robert Turzak and Michael Ogden each picked up singles victories in the opening rounds of the pre-qualifying draw at the 2018 Saint Francis Health System ITA Men's All-American Championships Saturday. The wins advanced them to the round of 64 at the national tournament.
Ogden, who advanced to the second round off of a walkover, gutted out a three-set victory over Hofstra's Shawn Jackson. He won by a 1-6, 6-4 6-0 score to advance to the round of 64.
Turzak also advanced to the round of 64 after picking up a pair of singles wins Saturday. The Wolfpack sophomore secured a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Arkansas' Enrique Paya in the first round before going on to come from behind to defeat Florida State's Chase Wood 3-6, 6-1, 7-5 in the second round.
Joseph Schrader and Tristan Smith were also in action at the tournament, each falling in the first round of action.
SUNDAY'S SCHEDULE:
Turzak and Ogden will aim to continue advancing through the pre-qualifying draw as they resume competition Sunday in the round of 64. Turzak will match up against Indiana's Carson Haskins at 8 a.m. EST, and Ogden will take on an ACC opponent in Duke's Spencer Furman.
Schrader and Smith will also continue competition playing in the pre-qualifying consolation bracket. Schrader will face Louisiana's Arthur Libaud at 9 a.m. EST, and Smith will take on Karlo Kranic of Ole Miss at 11:30 a.m. ET.
