#16 Women’s Soccer To Face Pittsburgh Sunday In ACC Home Stand

RALEIGH – The No. 16 NC State women's soccer team will host Pittsburgh Sunday at Dail Soccer Stadium, marking the team's second of three consecutive ACC matches at home. Kickoff is 1 p.m. and the match will be broadcast on the ACC Network Extra.
The Wolfpack enters the contest with a 7-2-1 (0-1 ACC) record, while the Panthers are 4-4-1 (0-2 ACC) on the season.
Sunday is Alumni Day, and the 1988 ACC Championship team will be recognized at halftime as the 2018 season marks the 30th anniversary of defeating UNC-CH in penalty kicks.

Series History
Sunday will mark the seventh time the teams have met as NC State leads the all-time series 4-2-0. The Pack has won the last two contests with Pitt. In 2016 the team earned a 2-1 win in overtime at home to clinch a spot in the ACC Championship, and in 2017 NC State traveled to Pittsburgh and picked up a 3-2 victory.

NC State hosted Wake Forest, who is receiving votes for the top 25 of the national polls, on Thursday evening in its ACC home opener and fell 2-0.
Santoro Receives Contract Extension
The NC State Board of Trustees approved a new contract for head coach Tim Santoro on Friday afternoon. Santoro agreed to a two-year extension to his current agreement, which puts him under contract for five years through 2022.
He is in his sixth year at the helm of the Pack and has guided the program to back-to-back ACC and NCAA Tournament appearances. In 2016 he was named Southeast Region Coach of the Year and was a finalist for National Coach of the Year.
Team Effort
12 of the team's 17 field players that have seen playing time this season have recorded at least one point. Six players have scored a combined 14 goals while 10 different members have tallied an assist.
Scouting Pittsburgh
The Panthers are on a two-match loss streak after suffering a pair of losses to open ACC play. Pitt fell to Louisville 2-0 on Sept. 15 and dropped its match with UNC-Chapel Hill 3-0 on Thursday in its last time out.
Anna Rico and Madeline Gravante own a combined five of the team's nine goals scored this season, while goalkeeper Amaia Pena has compiled a 1.27 goals-against average and .800 save percentage.
