Pack Moves Up to Fourth Place Headed Into Final Round of Maui Jim Intercollegiate

SCOTTSDALE, ARIZ. – The NC State men's golf team moved up one spot into fourth place after two rounds of play at the Maui Jim Intercollegiate. The Pack shot seven-under as a team on Saturday and are now 14-under for the tournament.
Senior Stephen Franken led the Pack on Saturday by shooting a seven-under par 63. The score of 63 tied for the lowest score in the second round. The Raleigh native had eight birdies on the day as he jumped up 40 spots on the leaderboard to eighth place.
Junior Benjamin Shipp continues to pace the Pack on the leaderboard. The Duluth, Ga., native is in a tie for sixth place on the leaderboard after shooting a two-under par 68 on Saturday.
Sophomore Easton Paxton shot an even-par 70 in the second round to stand in a tie for 27th place at two-under for the tournament.
Junior Christian Salzer is next for the Pack after shooting a two-over par 72 in the second round. Salzer is in a tie for 48th place on the leaderboard at one-over for the tournament
Senior Harrison Rhoades rounds out the NC State lineup in a tie for 71st place. The Raleigh native shot a 76 in the second round on Saturday.
Arizona State and LSU are tied for the lead at 23-under. Georgia Tech is in third place, two shots back.
NC State will tee off of Hole 1 in Sunday's third and final round with the first Pack player going off at 7:50 MST.
