Franken and Shipp Lead Pack to Fourth Place Finish at Maui Jim Intercollegiate

Final Results
SCOTTSDALE, ARIZ. – NC State men's golfers Stephen Franken and Benjamin Shipp both finished in a tie for fourth place at the Maui Jim Intercollegiate to lead the Pack to a fourth place finish as a team.
NC State was consistent throughout the tournament as the team shot a seven-under par 273 every round.
Franken led the Pack on Sunday with a four-under par 67. The Reigning ACC Player of the Year rebounded from a one-over par in the first round on Friday to shoot eight-under par on Saturday and record his 15th career top-10 finish. Franken's final scorecard was 71-63-67—201.
Shipp opened the tournament with a team-best five-under 65 and registered two-under 68 on Saturday and Sunday to finish tied with Franken on the individual leaderboard. The Duluth, Ga., native has now played five of six rounds this season at par or better.
Sophomore Easton Paxton completed his best tournament as a member of the NC State golf team in a tie for 20th place. Paxton sandwiched rounds of two-under 68 between a round of even-par 70 on Saturday to finish four-under for the tournament. The score related to par (-4) and total score (206) were both career bests for Paxton.
Junior Christian Salzer finished in a tie for 43rd place with a three-round score of two-over. The Sumter, S.C., native shot a one-under 69 on Friday, a 72 on Saturday and closed the tournament with a one-over 71 on Sunday. Salzer's 54-hole score of 212 is a collegiate best for Salzer.
Senior Harrison Rhoades rounded out the NC State lineup in a tie for 65th place. The Raleigh native shot his best round of the tournament on Sunday, an even-par 70.
Georgia Tech won the tournament with a three-round score of 28-under par. Arizona State finished in second, two shots back of the Yellow Jackets. LSU finished in third, three shots behind the Sun Devils. The Pack was just two shots back of LSU in fourth and Auburn finished two shots back of NC State in fifth.
NC State will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 6 when it hosts the Wolfpack Intercollegiate at Lonnie Poole Golf Course.
