Pack To Open Fall Slate At Milwaukee Classic, UVA Masters

RALEIGH– The NC State men's tennis team will open fall competition this weekend as it has players in action at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic from Sept. 20-23 and the UVA Masters from Sept. 21-23.
MILWAUKEE TENNIS CLASSIC
Location: Milwaukee, Wisc.
Site: The Town Club / Al McGuire Center

Michael Ogden, Joseph Schrader, Collin Shick and Robert Turzak are set to represent the Wolfpack at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic. Competition will begin Thursday with the singles round of 64 and the doubles round of 32 and will wrap up Sunday with all finals being played at the Al McGuire Center.
The tournament has partnered with the Intercollegiate Tennis Association this season, which gives the winners of the tournament a wildcard into the 2018 ITA National Fall Championships in Surprise, Ariz.
UVA MASTERS
Location: Charlottesville, Va.
Site: Snyder Tennis Center
Igor Saveljic and Ivan Saveljic will join some of the nation's top-level collegiate talent to kick off their senior campaigns at the UVA Masters. The tournament, which runs Friday through Sunday, will be double elimination format, and the winner of the singles draw will earn a wildcard entry into the qualifiers of the Charlottesville Challenger in October.
WOLFPACK IN THE RANKINGS:
NC State begins the 2018-19 season with two doubles pairs and two singles players featured in the Oracle/ITA preseason rankings, which were released Sept. 11.
Igor Saveljic and Ivan Saveljic earned the highest doubles ranking of their careers and will start the fall slate ranked No. 15. Alexis Galarneau and Michael Ogden join them in the doubles rankings, checking in at No. 28 to begin the campaign ranked in the top 30 for the second season in a row.
Galarneau also ranked in the top 25 in singles at No. 24, and Igor was named a personal-best No. 71 in singles.
The preseason rankings will stand for the entirety of fall tennis action until the next poll is released Nov. 14.
