#17 Women’s Soccer To Close Out Nonconference Slate Wednesday At UNCG

RALEIGH – The No. 17 NC State women's soccer team will close out its nonconference schedule Wednesday when it travels to UNCG. Due to Hurricane Florence approaching, the match has been pushed up to a 1 p.m. kickoff at UNCG Soccer Stadium in Greensboro, N.C. Due to the time change there will not be a live stream of the match.
The Wolfpack enters the matchup with a 6-1-1 record while the Spartans are 5-1-1 this season.
Series History
Wednesday will mark the 17th time the teams have met, as UNCG holds a 7-6-3 advantage in the all-time series. The teams last met on Sept. 10, 2015 in Raleigh and the Pack suffered a 2-0 loss.
Last Time Out
The team suffered its first loss of the season on Sunday afternoon at Dail Soccer Stadium to Nebraska 2-1. The Huskers were receiving votes for the top 25 of the national polls.
The result snapped a 14-match undefeated streak at home, the third-longest in program history, as well as a nine-match overall undefeated streak (since Nov. 11, 2017).

On Sunday Tziarra King scored her sixth goal in eight matches, and has tallied at least a goal or assist in every match so far this season. She tops the ACC and is T10th in the NCAA in total goals, and ranks second in the ACC and T12th in the NCAA in total points.

NC State owns a 4-0-1 record when scoring first, and is undefeated when scoring two or more goals in a match.
Road Warriors
The team is 3-0-0 this season when playing on the road. The Pack opened its season with a 2-1 win at Navy, and earned wins at Penn (1-0) and then-No. 20 Princeton (3-1) two weeks ago.

NC State fell four spots in this week's United Soccer Coaches poll to 17th, but held on to its No. 11 ranking in the latest TopDrawerSoccer poll.

UNCG, the defending Southern Conference champion, is currently on a three-match win streak. On Sept. 7, its last time out, the Spartans defeated Davidson 2-1 on the road.
Cienna Rideout leads the team with four goals and nine points, while four others have tallied at least two goals this season. Aiyanah Tyler-Cooper has played almost every minute in goal for UNCG and owns a .99 goals-against average. She has allowed seven goals through six matches and recorded three shutouts.
