SANTA BARBARA, CALIF. - NC State women's soccer alumna Jameese Joseph '23 scored her first career goal for the United States Women's National Team on Tuesday night, finding the back of the net in a 5-0 friendly victory over Chile in Santa Barbara. The goal came in Joseph's first international start for the senior national team.
Joseph opened the scoring in the 26th minute after receiving a pass from Yazmeen Ryan while posting up in the box. The former Wolfpack standout turned and fired a left-footed shot into the back of the net, marking her first international goal.
The goal adds to a growing list of milestones for Joseph with the U.S. National Team over the past several months. She earned her first international cap on Nov. 28, 2025, in a 3-0 win over Italy, after receiving her first senior team call-up on Nov. 19.
Joseph began 2025 with an invitation to U.S. Soccer's Futures Camp, which ran concurrently with the USWNT's January camp. Following Futures Camp, she earned consistent call-ups to the U.S. Under-23 Women's National Team, most recently joining the group in October as it overlapped with the senior team's preparations for matches against Portugal and New Zealand.
At the professional level, Joseph became the second player in NC State women's soccer program history to be selected in the National Women's Soccer League Draft when she was chosen No. 15 overall by the Chicago Red Stars (now Chicago Stars FC). She signed a contract extension with the club following her first two professional seasons and is under contract through the 2028 season with a mutual option for 2029.
During the 2025 NWSL regular season, Joseph made 21 appearances with 16 starts, recording four goals and two assists for the Stars in her second full professional campaign.
