Wolfpack Defeats Penn 1-0 On The Road

PHILADELPHIA – Tziarra King's goal in the third minute was the difference in the 13th-ranked NC State women's soccer team's win at Penn on Friday evening at Rhodes Field in Philadelphia.
The Wolfpack handed the Quakers, who move to 2-1-0, their first loss of 2018. NC State improves to 4-0-1 with their second shutout of the season, and extends their undefeated streak in regular season competition to 10.

How It Happened
Krissi Schuster received a ball from Ricci Walkling on the right side, crossed it in to King just in front of the goal line and she tapped it in for what proved to be the game-winner. It was her fourth in five matches and the first goal Penn has conceded this season.
NC State did a phenomenal job of controlling possession, as Penn's first scoring opportunity didn't come until the 63rd minute. The Pack held a 16-4 shot advantage, forcing Penn's goalkeeper Kitty Qu to make six saves.
Sydney Wootten collected the 19th shutout of her career, which puts her in a tie for fourth among the program in the category.

NC State will travel to No. 20 Princeton Sunday for its second match of the weekend. Kickoff is 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
