Softball Releases 2018 Fall Schedule

RALEIGH –NC State softball head coach Jennifer Patrick-Swift announced the team's fall schedule on Wednesday afternoon. The Wolfpack will play eight games against in-state opponents, and three of them will be held at Dail Stadium.
All fall games are exhibitions and will not count towards NC State's record during its competition season, which is in the spring. Admission is free for all three contests held in Raleigh.
The team will open its fall slate with a 1 p.m. doubleheader at UNCW Sept. 30, then will travel to UNC-Chapel Hill and East Carolina Oct. 4 and 5 for a pair of games. First pitch against the Tar Heels is 7 p.m. and the matchup with the Pirates is slated for 6 p.m.
NC State will host Fayetteville Tech Oct. 7 in a 1 p.m. doubleheader, and welcome Elon Oct. 19 at 6 p.m. for a 10-inning contest. The Pack will close out its schedule Oct. 20 when it travels to Duke for a 10-inning game. Time is to be announced.
This will be the team's first competition under Patrick-Swift's leadership. 12 players return from last year's squad, while five freshmen and three transfers make up the team's newcomers.
