How It Happened
The teams were aggressive from the start, as both goalkeepers were forced to make three saves apiece in the first 25 minutes of the contest. The Pack fired eight shots and earned five corners while the Hawks produced five chances in the first period.
In the second half the Pack's defense shut down Monmouth's offensive play, as the Hawks only had two shots and one corner. Tziarra King and Paige Griffiths each made a strong effort in the final 10 minutes of regulation with one shot each but were unable to convert.
After just a combined three shots between both squads in the first overtime period, Schuster found the back of the net in the 103rd minute from the top of the box, her first of the season, and was assisted by King and Maxine Blackwood.
