
Ko Finishes Runner Up At Bryan National Collegiate

BROWNS SUMMIT, N.C. – Junior Naomi Ko of the NC State women's golf team garnered her best finish of the season and fifth top 10 showing of her career on Saturday at the Bryan National Collegiate, firing a two-under par 70 in the final round of play at Bryan Park to place second overall with a 217 (+1).
Ko shot the low around of the day in wet conditions to move 11 spots up the leaderboard after Friday's results, and led the Wolfpack to a sixth-place finish out of 18 teams as the squad posted a 306 (+18) for a three-day score of 899 (+35).
Co-host Wake Forest took the team title with an 888 (+24), Furman placed second with an 893 (+29) while Auburn and UNC-Chapel Hill shot 897 (+33) to finish in a tie for third.
India Clyburn and Cecily Overbey finished in a tie for 21st with a 10-over par 226, as Clyburn shot 78 and Overbey concluded the tournament with a four-over 76. Laura Kowohl shot 82 in the final round to finish T40th with a 230 (+14), and Mim Sangkapong turned in an 85 to finish T86th with a 247 (+31).
Monika Hartl, who competed as an individual, wrapped up play with a 79 to finish T68th at 239 (+23).
The Pack will return to action in two weeks when it heads to Greensboro, N.C., for the ACC Women's Golf Championship. The tournament is slated to run April 21-23 at the Grandover Resort.
