Softball Travels To Liberty Wednesday

RALEIGH – The NC State softball team will conclude a four-game road swing Wednesday when it travels to Liberty for a midweek contest. First pitch is 5 p.m. at Kamphius Field at Liberty Softball Stadium, and live audio will be available.
The Wolfpack enters the matchup with a 20-15 record while the Flames are 28-8.
Last Time Out
NC State traveled to Louisville last weekend for a three-game series. The teams split their doubleheader on Friday and the Pack dropped the rubber match 7-0 on Saturday.
In the squad's 6-1 win in game two Chandley Garner brought two runs across with a solo homer and RBI double, while Timberlyn Shurbutt hit a three-run shot and Natalie Jones hit an RBI single in the seventh inning to seal the win.
All-Time Series
Wednesday will mark the fourth time the teams have met as NC State owns a 2-1 advantage in the all-time series. Last year Liberty traveled to NC State on March 29 and earned a 5-3 win.
Turning Double Plays
Last weekend the Pack turned five double plays at Louisville and now holds 16 on the season. The mark ranks second in the ACC while the squad is T16th in the NCAA in the category.
