Wolfpack remains unbeaten in midweek games
NC State moves to 29-7 on the year, while UNC-Chapel Hill falls to 24-13. Freshman Reid Johnston earned the win on the mound and moves to 5-0 on the year, while UNC starter Rodney Hutchison took the loss and falls to 3-2.

- Evan Edwards led off the frame with a single through the left side and scored on Bailey's fifth home run of the year.
- After UNC cut the NC State lead to one, the Wolfpack tacked on a pair of runs in the fourth to take a 4-1 lead.
- Brock Deatherage walked and Terrell Tatum singled to score on a fielder's choice and an error by the Tar Heels.
- In the fifth inning, Bailey collected his third RBI of the game with a single that drove in Will Wilson to push the Pack's advantage to 5-1.
- The Heels plated a couple runs in the eighth and threatened for more, but NC State relief pitcher Kent Klyman struck out the batter swinging to escape the jam.
