
Pack in Seventh Place Heading into Final Round of Hootie Intercollegiate

AWENDAW, S.C. – The NC State men's golf team moved up one spot on the team leaderboard to seventh place after two rounds of play at the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate held at the Bulls Bay Golf Club.
The Pack shot a 298 in the second round and is five shots back of Wisconsin for sixth place. Kent State leads the 15-team field by two shots over Kentucky. Iowa State is in third place, three shots back of the Wildcats. Ole Miss is in fourth place and Missouri rounds out the top-five in fifth.
Stephen Franken paced the Pack on Monday with a one-over par 73. The Raleigh native is in a tie for 13th place out of 75 competitors with a score of even-par through two rounds.
Harrison Rhoades and Benjamin Shipp are next for the Pack with both golfers in a tie for 21st place on the individual leaderboard. Rhoades open the tournament with a team-low 69 and fired a 77 on Monday to sit at two-over par through two rounds. Shipp shot a 75 on Monday after a 71 on Sunday to also have a score of two-over par.
Freshman Easton Paxton shot the second-lowest round for the Pack on Monday with a 74 and moved up 13 spots on the leaderboard to 52nd place.
Nolan Mills Jr., rounds out the NC State lineup in a tie for 70th place. The NC State junior improved on his opening by five shots on Monday.
The third and final round begins Tuesday.
