
Pack Tied for Eighth Place After One Round of Hootie Intercollegiate

AWENDAW, S.C. – The NC State men's golf team sits in a tie for eight place after one round of play at the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate held at the Bulls Bay Golf Club.
The Pack shot an even-par 288 in the first round to sit in a tie with defending champion, South Carolina. Missouri is the first round leader at 10-under par, while four teams are tied for second place at seven-under par.
Harrison Rhoades paced the Pack on Sunday as he shot a three-under par 69 to sit in a tie for fourth place on the individual leaderboard. The Raleigh native had four birdies and just one bogey in the first round as he fired his low round of the season.
Stephen Franken and Benjamin Shipp are next for the Pack as both shot one-under par 71s in the opening round. Franken had four birdies and three bogeys in the first round, while Shipp had two birdies and one bogey in his first nine holes of the day before registering 11 consecutive pars to close the day.
Easton Paxton and Nolan Mills Jr., round out the Pack's lineup. Paxton shot a five-over par 77 to stand in 65th place, while Mills shot an opening round 81 to place in 74th.
The second round begins Monday.
