RALEIGH – The #46 NC State women's tennis team is set to resume ACC play when it takes on #22 Florida State at 5 p.m. on Mar. 16 at the Speicher Tennis Center and #31 Miami at 11 a.m. on Mar. 18 at the Schiff Tennis Center.
From the Coach
"Back to ACC play and back on the road this weekend at Florida St and Miami - the third time in my four years we've made this trip but the first time playing FSU first" said head coach Simon Earnshaw. "We know coming in that both are high quality programs and are having good seasons, realistically that can be said of all our conference opponents annually it seems these days. Every one of these matches is a great opportunity for us to grow individually and as a team. I expect the matches to be an absolute battle, and that we'll play well. Last season both matches lived up to that expectation and came down to a specific point here and there, I think we learned a lot from the experience. If you want to coach or play in this conference this is what it's all about and we are all looking forward to a fun and exciting road trip."
Last time out for the Wolfpack
The Pack split of pair of matches at the USTA National Campus in Lake Nona, Florida. On Mar. 9 it fell 4-3 to #50 Oklahoma then bounced back later in the day to overcome South Dakota 7-0.
Earnshaw Obtains 800th Career Win
Head Coach Simon Earnshaw earned the 800th win of his career on Mar. 9 with the Wolfpack's 7-0 win over South Dakota. Prior to coming to NC State in 2014 Earnshaw accumulated a record of 747-118 at Armstrong State as he went 411-35 with the women's team and 325-11 with the men's team.
