Joshua Davis has earned All-America honors at all three indoor national meets that he has competed in
COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Joshua Davis capped off a historic indoor track and field season with a third-place finish in the weight throw at the NCAA Indoor Championships Saturday afternoon. Davis, who is the only male weight thrower in program history to become an All-American in the event, earned First Team All-America honors for the second year in a row.Â
After advancing out of the trial round to the nine-man final, Davis's best mark of the day came on his penultimate attempt with a 75' 3.25" (22.94m) throw. His top-three finish is the highest national finish in school history in the weight throw, besting the record that he already held after placing fifth at the meet in 2017. Davis finished on the podium in all nine meets that he competed in during the 2018 indoor season.Â

A redshirt senior from Pelham, N.C., Davis continued to cement his status as one of the most decorated Wolfpack throwers. The performance made him a three-time All-American in the weight throw, the only male thrower in NC State track and field history to garner the honors more than twice.Â
Davis and the rest of the Wolfpack will turn their attention to the beginning of outdoor track and field season. NC State is set to kick off the outdoor portion of its schedule at the Wake Forest Invitational on Saturday, March 24.
