Leslie and Maize Earn All-ACC Academic Team Honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Kiara Leslie and Akela Maize of the No. 23/22 NC State women's basketball team (23-7) have been named to the 2018 All-ACC Academic Team, the league office announced on Friday morning.

Maize is a senior planning to graduate with a degree in Communication. Leslie obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland in 2017 and is pursuing graduate studies at NC State.

Has scored 10+ points in a single game 22 times this season … Has scored 20+ points in a single game on two occasions … Has recorded three double-doubles … Has led or tied for the team lead in scoring nine times this season … Has scored 10+ points in a game in the Wolfpack's last 10 consecutive games … Ranks second on the team in both scoring and rebounding … Among the team's top defensive players … Averaging 29.4 minutes, 12.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.0 steals per game while shooting 137-334 (.410) from the field.
