Softball To Host Pittsburgh In ACC Opener This Weekend

RALEIGH – The NC State softball team will open ACC play this weekend when it hosts Pittsburgh in a three-game series. The teams will play at 5 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. Saturday and 12 p.m. Sunday at Dail Stadium, and all three games will be streamed on the ACC Network Extra.
The Wolfpack enters the weekend with an 11-5 record while the Panthers are 8-5-1.
LAST TIME OUT
NC State traveled to UNCW on Wednesday and earned a 4-2 win, scoring a pair of runs in the first and fifth innings. Lily Bishop, Haley Finn and Haylee Kobziak tallied two hits apiece, while Kobziak hit her first home run of the season and scored two of the team's four runs.
The road victory marked the team's third consecutive win and seventh in eight games.
ALL-TIME SERIES
Friday will mark the 16th time the teams have met, as the Panthers hold an 8-7 advantage in the all-time series. Last year NC State traveled to Pittsburgh for a weekend series and the Panthers took two of three.
