RALEIGH, N.C. – After playing four consecutive road matches, the NC State volleyball team battled to earn a 3-2 (25-21, 24-26, 25-23, 20-25, 15-5) victory against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons Friday night in its return to Reynolds Coliseum.
Â
The Wolfpack took a 2-1 lead in the match before the Demon Deacons forced a decisive fifth set with a strong fourth set. NC State jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the final frame and never looked back en route to the 15-5 fifth-set win.

Â
NC State moves to 11-12 overall and 5-8 in ACC play, while Wake Forest is 8-17 and 3-10 against league opponents.

Overall thoughts...
"It was so nice to play at home in front of a great crowd," said third-year head coach Linda Hampton-Keith. "I thought it a roller-coaster type of match, but I think we took a big step forward in managing the highs and lows of a match.
Â
"It was really nice to see us ride the waves and do a nice in the fifth set, so I was very pleased with how we respond to all of the adversity."
