Women’s Soccer To Face Louisville On Sunday For Senior Day

RALEIGH – The NC State women's soccer team will wrap up its home schedule Sunday when it hosts Louisville at Dail Soccer Stadium in a 1 p.m. matchup. The contest will be broadcast on the ACC Network Extra, and the program's senior class will be honored prior to kickoff.
The Wolfpack enters the match with a 10-4-3 (3-3-2 ACC) record while the Cardinals are 11-4-0 (5-3-0 ACC) this season. Both teams are currently receiving votes for the national polls.

Series History
Sunday marks the sixth meeting in history between the teams, as they are tied 2-2-1 in the all-time series.
Louisville traveled to Raleigh last year on Oct. 26 and the Pack won 2-1, and on Oct. 6, 2016, the teams battled to a 1-1 draw in Louisville, Ky.
Last Time Out
The Pack hosted Miami on Thursday and won 1-0, giving the team six shutouts on the season.
An early goal by Kia Rankin and solid performance by Sydney Wootten allowed the team to capture its 10th win. Wootten additionally earned her 23rd career shutout, and is one away from tying for third all-time in the category.
10-Win Seasons
After Thursday's win, 2018 marks the third consecutive year that the program has reached 10 or more wins under head coach Tim Santoro. NC State finished 11-9-2 in 2016 and 15-5-2 in 2017.
The last time the program accomplished the feat was in the 1994-96 seasons.
Scoring First
NC State is undefeated when scoring first, owning a 7-0-1 ledger. Four of those wins have come when scoring in the first 15 minutes of a match.
Looking Ahead
NC State will travel to No. 6 Virginia Thursday for its final match of the regular season. The contest will mark the team's ninth opponent of the season that is ranked or receiving votes for the top 25.
Scouting Louisville
The Cards dropped a 2-1 decision at Duke on Thursday in its last time out after wins over Miami (3-0) and Wake Forest (2-0) last week. Their other ACC wins include Pittsburgh, Notre Dame and Syracuse.
Brooklynn Rivers and Maisie Whitsett lead the team offensively with eight goals apiece, accounting for half of the team's goals scored this year. Gabby Kouzelos has played all 15 games in goal for Louisville and owns a .94 goals-against average, allowing 14 all season.
